| Death of Someone Living Dreams of the death of someone who is still alive are the worst kind of dreams Nevertheless, my profound experience -- and that of many other dream workers -- is that these dreams are not as bad as they seem. Indeed, they can be very fruitful if you have someone who can help you work through them. The ordeal that we go through when we dream of the death of someone we love who is still alive is one of the worst imaginable. We might very well be plagued with concerns. We might be worried that they are going to die -- either because of the dream or that we have been given some special information. The sense that we have a burden that we simply cannot know how to deal with is enormous. It is hard to suggest to someone who is in that position that this is not the case. It is hard for them to see that the dream/nightmare may even have some benefit for them. It is often very hard to take the dream as symbolic (see Death Symbolism) and I understand that my assurance may carry little weight for them. At the same time, my profound experience -- and that of many other dream workers -- is that these dreams are not as bad as they seem. Indeed, they can be very fruitful if you have someone who can help you work through them. Many of us have been through the near-torture of worrying about what the dream seems to predict. And almost all of us will tell you that 1. yes it is awful and 2. it is not as bad as it seem. |
