Go back to the original dream image

When we wake up and think about the dream, we immediately have to start "making sense" out of the material that we remember. We start "weaving" a story out of what we experienced. Sometimes that works and sometimes it doesn't.

If it doesn't, you need to take a step back. Just like going through a maze and reaching a dead end.

One way to work with a dream is to go back to the original image. Rather than focus on your "story", ask yourself what was it that you actually experienced in the dream. Most likely, but not always, you had an image or a sensation.

Now, start with that image. Draw it, paint it, or simply describe what you actually saw, not what you made it mean.
