Is It Real?

Sometimes we dream about deceased loved ones and the dream feels so real to us that the question arises, "Was it real?"

I have no more knowledge or information than you do.

If it feels real to you, I would take it that the person is very much alive in your heart and that your understanding of what they would think and feel and do probably plays a large part in your life.

Take them with you

When I have a dream that feels intensely real to me, on the next day, I use my imagination to take the person around with me and show them my life.

If I dream about my mother (who died two years ago). I will spend much of the next day "talking" to her. We'll be laughing and telling old jokes and I'll bring her up to date on how her two beautiful grandchildren are doing.

The next night, as a small ritual, I would light two candles, one for her and one for my father, so that they could watch over me while I slept.

Ask their advice

To me, there is no such thing as a senseless dream. There is always a purpose.

If I dreamed about my father (who died 10 years ago), I would look for any current problems in my life and ask his advice. Of course, I already know a lot of what he would say but sometimes he surprises me with his ideas and, because I had the dream, it is time to take his advice seriously.

Things to do

If there is advice given in the dream -- either by you or to you -- take it seriously.

If you have a current problem, take seriously whatever your loved one would have advised you on this matter.
